Dr. Brandon Farrell (Co-Founder) – Dr. Farrell is a co-founder of Brush Dental Care (BDC) and is the primary dentist in the initial BDC practice in downtown Wilmington (www.brushdentalcare.com). Dr. Farrell is focused on providing patients with comprehensive and compassionate dental care. Since the acquisition of Dr. Farrell’s practice in December of 2006, it has experienced fantastic growth. Thanks to great patient support, in March of 2008, the practice was relocated to its new, larger location on Chestnut Street in order to better serve our expanding patient base.
Prior to co-founding Brush Dental Care, Dr. Farrell was employed as an associate dentist with Heartland Dental Care. Dr. Farrell, with the help of six team members, operated a five chair family dental practice in Bloomington, Indiana. Working with Heartland Dental Care provided Dr. Farrell many opportunities for continued dental education. Dr. Farrell attended courses in the areas of endodontics, oral surgery, diagnostic, restorative, and cosmetic/smile makeover dentistry. Prior to joining Heartland Dental Care, Dr. Farrell served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps as a Dental Officer. His four years of service included duty at the Pentagon and Marine Corps Air Station located in Cherry Point, North Carolina. Dr. Farrell was deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, serving six months abroad.
Dr. Farrell is a graduate of Indiana University School of Dentistry, Indianapolis, Indiana with the degree of D.D.S. Undergraduate studies were completed at Indiana University with a B.S. in Biology. Brandon’s email address is brandon.farrell@brushdentalcare.com.
Brandon resides in Wilmington with his wife, son, and daughter. Brandon enjoys spending time with family, running, trolling the intracoastal waterway.
Barry Farrell (Co-Founder) – Barry Farrell is a co-founder of Brush Dental Care is responsible for all business related initiates of the company. Barry’s primary role includes leading the marketing, accounting, technology, acquisition, vendor management, and strategic planning efforts. Barry also assists the dentists with human resource related activities such as general management and incentive planning for staff.
Prior to co-founding Brush Dental Care, Mr. Farrell was employed as a manager at Career Education Corporation (CEC), the world’s largest on-campus provider of private, for-profit postsecondary education. His responsibilities included managing the financial applications at over 90 schools. Prior to joining CEC, Mr. Farrell worked for Heller Financial Corporation, the financial organization which provided the initial equity to start CEC. At Heller Financial, Mr. Farrell worked with information technology projects relating to small business finance. While at Heller, Mr. Farrell re-located to the London office for one year to lead the development of a financial leasing application with partners IBM, Cisco, and Apple. Mr. Farrell started his career at Price Waterhouse and worked as a management consultant implementing enterprise resource planning applications at fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Farrell is a graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. in Marketing and received an MBA in Finance, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Barry’s email address is barry.farrell@brushdentalcare.com.

Dr. Jeffrey Mintz (Partner) – Dr. Jeff Mintz has been proudly serving the people of Brunswick County for over nineteen years by providing comprehensive family dental services from his office in Supply, NC. Since starting the office from scratch in 1989, Dr. Mintz had built a great patient base and offers a wide variety of treatment from preventive to cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Mintz believes in treating patients in a caring, comfortable manner while generating long-term friendships with his patients. In August of 2007, Dr. Mintz joined Brush Dental Care, assuring that this high level of patient care will continue. In April 2008, Dr. Mintz was featured in the Best of Brunswick directory section of the Brunswick Beacon newspaper. Dr. Mintz was voted by the readers of the paper as the #1 dentist in Brunswick County. In recognition of his fantastic performance and commitment to Brush Dental Care, Dr. Mintz was promoted to Partner in October of 2008.
Dr. Mintz grew up in Wilmington and moved to Brunswick County in 1989 to start his dentistry practice. Dr. Mintz graduated with a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He then graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry with a D.D.S. degree.
Jeff resides in Shallotte with his wife, son and daughter. Dr. Mintz enjoys spending time with family, tennis, being active in his church, and all UNC sports.
Dr. Timothy Swing (Partner) - Dr. Timothy Swing, a native North Carolinian, has been a practicing dentist in his home state since 2008 and recently joined Brush Dental Care in April 2010. Dr. Swing graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a minor in Spanish. After graduation, he spent a year as a laboratory technician for the UNC Dental Research Center, where he studied the connection between dental diseases and health issues such as diabetes and heart disease. After his time at the research center, Dr. Swing enrolled at Tufts University Dental School in Boston where he went on to graduate summa cum laude with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree. He interned in Bath, NY at a veteran's hospital where he worked and lived with his patients. It was here where he saw first hand how caring for a person's dental needs could improve their quality of life as a whole.
While in Boston, Dr. Swing met his wife, Trista, and they were married in 2007. After graduation Dr. Swing was excited to return to the North Carolina coast, as it was where he spent all of his family vacations growing up. He and his wife are active members of their church, and Dr. Swing enjoys the benefits of coastal living from kayaking and fishing, to attempts at surfing.He has volunteered with local mobile dental units and free public oral cancer screenings, and is excited to be a part of the Brush Dental team and their community outreach opportunities.
